Video Explaining the Sprinkler Buddy

The Sprinkler Buddy is a revolutionary sprinkler head indicator unlike any other on the market today. To help you learn a little bit more about this product, we put together a video explaining the difference between the Sprinkler Buddy and other sprinkler head indicators, as well as how to use the Sprinkler Buddy and its use in real life.

Hi, I’m leo inventor of the original flexible sprinkler head indicator. I’m going to demonstrate the Sprinkler Buddy in use but before I do, I’m going to demonstrate some of my competing products or similar products found on the market today.

Sprinkler Buddy VS Competition

Here are 4 indicators I have found currently sold on the market today.
This is the common concrete ring, this is the plastic sprinkler donut, this is the sprinkler saver, and this product here I’m not sure of the name; it has patent pending on it and that is all.

The thing that i want to show you about the other indicators or guards or shields that are currently sold on the market today is they all have a fixed insert. meaning that you can not change the insert diameter. So if you have a sprinkler head and you put it in this concrete ring, you’ve got an area between the shaft of the sprinkler head and the guard itself which grass will grow in between the two. Or the other extreme is you’ve got a sprinkler head that is much too large for the indicator which you can not use at all.

Another thing all these products have in common is they are all made out of a hard plastic or concrete material. The problem with that is when you run them over with a lawn mower they often brake or get forced deeper into the ground or both.

Here’s my invention, the Sprinkler Buddy. It is a flexible sprinkler head indicator.

Simple Installation Instructions

I’m going to demonstrate how easy it is to attach the Sprinkler Buddy to your sprinkler head.

First take your sprinkler head and measure the diameter of the shaft of the sprinkler head. This particular sprinkler heads happens to be at an inch and a half.

Now that i know my sprinkler head diameter, look on the bottom side of the Sprinkler Buddy. You will cut on all six lines, in this case, to the inch and half mark to get the measurement that I needed.
This is how you are going to attain the perfect fit regardless of the sprinkler head shaft diameter.

Push Sprinkler Head through Hole

Once you have all your lines cut to the diameter needed you will simply turn it over, take your sprinkler head, and push it down through the hole creating these retaining tabs. You want to push the sprinkler head shaft all the way to the sprinkler head collar. And that is how you get the perfect fit.

Notice unlike my competitor’s products, using the Sprinkler Buddy, grass cannot grow between the shaft and the protector which keeps it visible longterm with little or no maintenance.

You can find more installation help on our installation page.

Sprinkler Buddy = Perfect Fit!

As I’m demonstrating here, with the largest sprinkler heads on the market, you get the perfect fit. With the mid-size and even the smallest sprinkler shaft you get the perfect fit.

As I said before, the sprinkler buddy keeps the grass from growing between the sprinkler shaft and the indicator itself. And the Sprinkler Buddy, being the original flexible sprinkler head indicator, is made out of a flexible material. So when you run it over with a mower tire or a car or whatever, it gives and when you get off of it, it returns back to its original position without being forced deeper into the ground or breaking like many of the common products found on the market today.

Sprinkler Buddy Makes Sprinkler Heads Easy to See

Demonstrates the use of the Sprinkler Buddy by running it over with a lawn mower.

As you can tell, by running over the Sprinkler Buddy with a lawn mower it makes it easy for the lawncare professional or homeowner with pop-up irrigation systems installed, easy to identify those sprinkler heads to prevent accidental damage by running them over with your tires.

Having the sprinkler buddy attached made it easy to identify the sprinkler head and straddle it with my mower instead of running it over with my tires, damaging them, which I had done in the past.

Will Not Break or be Forced Deeper into the Ground

Demonstration of what happens when the Sprinkler Buddy is run over by mower tires. Because the Sprinkler Buddy is made out of flexible material, it returns back to its original position after being run over by the mower tires.

After seeing my demonstration you now know why every sprinkler head needs a Sprinkler Buddy.

Here’s a Testimony I received a few days ago. I don’t recommend installing the Sprinkler Buddy from the top but this customer and a few others have done so thus far. I stand corrected, it can be done. 🙂

” A month ago I ordered 4 packs of sprinkler buddies I really needed 9 packs but wanted to try the product out before ordering so many. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to install them. Cutting the donuts in the sod was a challenge. then i had to slip the ‘buddies” down over the sprinkler heads from the top—kinda difficult but I did it. I installed 28 and they are working well. I need 35 more [5 packs]”
